As my middle daughter and I were watching TV together, or she was, and I was meticulously trying to paint her toes in her new Essie color she said something quietly under her breath. I can't even remember what show it was but she said "you give something from your heart, because you want too, not because you want praise"! I looked up from painting her cute little toes and said "what did you say"? she repeated herself, and I smiled, put the brush in the bottle and grabbed her face and kissed it! "you are so right Mally, give from your heart, no matter what it is..don't give to impress". I said, "gosh, you are so wise, where did you learn that"? and she said "from you Mommy, you always let people go in front of us in carpool, the grocery store and that time you took that old ladies shopping cart so she didn't have to walk it in". WOW! I am not telling you this for a WOW, but, it opened my eyes to the fact that these children watch our every move and how much they might emulate our behavior..I also realize, they have also seen the not so good..the one who says cuss words, gossips, and has had one too many glasses of vino..but I like to balance it out..don't want her thinking I am all good!

So... I reactivated my Facebook account ALREADY!! Really for 2 reasons. I had a dear friend recently get diagnosed for the 2nd time Breast Cancer and want to keep up with her..and she posts about it and secondly, my daughters former teacher who had to move to NC for a job for the Hubby, was recently diagnosed with MS. It is so sad that these ladies have to endure this at such young ages but I know through, faith and prayer it will make this journey easier to bear.
I have to admit I really didn't miss Facebook after a day or two, but it is truly amazing what happens in those few short days to all of us. We all need prayer.

The youngest is home for the 2nd day Strep throat.. is it just my children, but my girls don't sleep when they are sick.. My late mother used to say " if your not sleeping, you musn't be sick"!
I am working from home today and it is hard to do when you see all of the dust, laundry and dirty dishes..so I work a little, clean a LOT.. and before I know it..Carpool will be calling.
I think I am going to start posting Friday Foods, recipes that I love that are easy and inexpensive..ya know, sans the Truffle Oil! Have a Happy Hump Day!

I deactivated my account Thursday!! I mean, let's get real, I can log on and it will magically appear again, I just needed a break! I can list various reasons:

1. It was the first thing I checked in the morning after I made the coffee and nudged the girly's to get up. SICK
2. I am sick of peoples Wow look at me I am so awesome and I need you to confirm that with a "click" of the "like" button and a glowing comment.
3. 1000 pictures of your children.
4. 10,000 of your freakin dog!
5. Political opinions(bad manners)
6. How much money you have ie vacations, purchases, new everything yada yada

I mean I get some of it, but what started out as a venue for "re-connecting" with old friends and sharing with new has evolved into a soap box and a bit of technological voyeurism.

I just love to read all of my favorite Blogs once I get the girly's off to school. I go back and forth to which Blogs I like, love and hate.. i even read the ones I hate too.
My criteria for my favorite Blogs are so different

1. I enjoy the Blogs where the ladies are ahem, in my age group 40-50! Did I just say that?? we are real, we are raising post college down to elementary and we mostly discuss, paint colors, fabric swatches, recipes, unruly children, bitchy friends..you get the picture.. we also talk about God, Church, and Giving back
2. Mid Twenties.. ok these girls have it going on!! They read every parenting book, dress to the nines..no pukey gym clothes for these girls!! They make exotic meals for their husbands all the while having their bodies toned, their make up perfect and the house cleaned and everything labeled.. and they have lots of money!! I live vicariously through these girls..although, I think something is missing, and I am going to find out.
3. The college blogs! Enough said.. I want to be a Delta, delta, Delta again and Tailgate

I was reading through my December issue of Real Simple when I happenend upon an article regarding Facebook etiquette. I had to read it, for several reasons, A). I have none and B). I am NOT alone.

Let's start with A)., which is me! I usually like to have a generally uplifting or thought provoking quote as my Status or say something about the girls , such as a life lesson, picture of going to a dance etc. I do NOT status Yay, my daughters made all A's, are perfect and I am married to Brad Pitt the wonder husband, although he does receive his fair share of props. I am always amazed at people..people?, wait these are my so called damn friends, which brings me to B). who let us know every illness they have, every candidate they support, every cause they find thought provoking..sheesh! To me, it is annoying and nobody gives a crap, and if we do, God forbid we put our 2 cents in because we are clearly stupid and don't know Jack!

getting back to A). which is me.. I have said pretty snide comments, really not to be mean, but my opinion, which brings me to " If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"! So I guess I will be a cheerleader for everyone, which I find quite boring. I mean really, everytime you are sick, which is often, trust me.. do I need to say "feel better, thinking of you". Do i have to let you know that your child who you post 1,000 pictures of doing the say thing..is precious! I love seeing the pictures too, because by all accounts they are cute. And don't get me started on animal pictures, that are all blurry from your Iphone!

What I think I am getting at..and this is just my Opinion, it seems like there are a lot of people out there who need lots of attention and feedback to say how wonderful they are..
I mean one status the other day.. I made dinner tonight! Well, good, you are the mom and you should! Wow! you did the laundry today, you are amazing! maybe I am being a crabby pain in the arse today.. Blogs are this way too also. what happenend to just being...

I started the job on Monday and was LET GO on Wednesday!! LOL!! Still trying to figure out what went wrong there..now I know what Sandra Bullock meant by BLINDSIDE!

Taught the baby a valuable lesson on Friday..after I signed her out of school on Friday at 11:30 and reprimanded her and sent her to her room until 8:00am saturday morning, I think she has a crystal clear picture who rules the Roost now! She woke up singing me a song on Saturday..she truly needs an attitude adjustment, she is a loving, caring and sharing girl, but she leans towards spoiled,IE daddy gets her what she wants, Mommy? Not so much!!

Middle girly..moving along nicely except when she informed her Daddy she missed Dance Company after school Tuesday( with the winter break she forgot, I get that), so on wednesday teacher asked where she was, since she is the lead dancer, and she may lose her spot now(Bitch), she told a little fib..said she had to go to her grandma's Birthday dinner and the teacher said..at 4? and she said. Yes M'am she lives out of town..uh yeah they have both passed away!! I wrote her an excuse..shoot me!

Oldest daughter..went to a friends birthday Dinner and spent the night..took her driving Sunday Night and i freaked a bit and screamed..brought her to tears..for that I am remorseful, because she is a truly sweet child who didn't deserve that.. Lots of making up to do there.

I really want to go to Nashville in may for the PEARL EVENT with paige, sibi oops one more.. anyone else?

I took the baby to see "Chipwrecked" yesterday and was absolutely floored at the noise level inside the movie theatre. Now, don't get me wrong, I know this is a childrens movie and they laugh and get giddy.. I am talking about the FOOD NOISE!!
The audience sounded like they were digging in brown paper grocery bags plundering to the bottom of a potato chip bag on their way to a 2 Liter coke!! Sheesh..I almost got up and said something, but didn't want to upset my little girl who was quietly enjoying her Gummie Sour patch kids and oblivious to the whole noise thingy!! Trust me, this isn't a shout to her..she is a talker too, but she knows when NOT to make noise.. UGH!

Christmas Day..

was magical...all three of my girls proclaimed it the "best Christmas ever"! I am not sure why, they got some cute things but certainly were not over indulged.."3 gifts from the 3 kings", and then some mommy and daddy splurge! The 2 youngest girls received NOOK COLORs, as the oldest has an iPod already, they are really enjoying them and have been using them for READING too! ha! Lots of clothes, boots and monogrammed jewelry and scarves and girly makeup for the 2 oldest.

I don't think I mentioned this..but on Christmas Eve, I had a small catering job and noticed that right before I put the Pork tenderloins in the oven that there was GREASE in the bottom of my oven..not from me I assure you..husband..so I tried just wiping it out because I couldnt spend the time to properly clean it..anyway..I smoked the house up.UGH! I love my house to smell beautiful, not like a bonfire, so I opened the french Doors off of the dining room and our front door, yes I know we looked like white trash, but I didn't care I wanted that smell gone..anyway.. a bird flew in YIKES and immediately flew out. Fast forward to 4 o'clock our dear friend and godmother to my middle child Sister Christina came for our traditional visit and she proceeds to tell me it means DEATH! What, shut the front door! Don't tell me something like that, I almost cried all day and night! No one died that night..enter christmas morning..got up early to make coffee.. coffee maker DEAD!! Shot, kaput!! whew! I was never so happy for that DEAD coffee maker, made for a weary morn, but at least we are all still here!

Sugar Cookie Mishap..

So, the baby had a friend over Sunday Evening and by Monday morning..they were "bored"!! I swore to her if she used that ADJECTIVE at all during Christmas Break she would be cleaning baseboards with HER toothbrush.. so she replaced BORED with "we have nothing to do" so we are going to walk to Publix!! What? Publix!! First of all, it is 3 miles from our house and secondly, she has never, ever even thought of that..enter her sassy friend, who I find refreshing, but sassy!! Where am I going with this story, ahh Yes, the Sugar Cookies.
No you are not walking to Publix..do you want to make christmas sugar cookies?? YEAH!! squeals.you get the picture.. I made the dough, gave them the rolling pin, the cookie cutters and sprinkles and told them to call me and I would put them in the oven..I was folding laundry... HAHA!! they rolled the dough into the letters of their names! no stars, trees, or stockings!! I did chuckle..

The baby has her last soccer game Saturday..I hope she scores a goal this season, she was a high roller last year, she's close,but missed a few good opportunities!!
Middle Baby has a dance part in "The Princess and the Frog", so we are full of rehearsals weekly, and 2 dress rehearsals next week and 3 performances..YIKES, time to get out the RED BULL!!
Oldest daughter has been babysitting for this family whose mommy travels a good bit for business, she just returned from London, must be rough, and has earned $340.00 so far..she is saving for a car, her Godfather said he would contribute $2000.00 we will contribute a $1000.00 and she needs to save$1000.00.. Don't you think you can get a decent used FIRST car for $4000.00?

I must say the weather here in SC has been nothing short of delightful! I catered 2 big parties last weekend and I am catering an OYSTER ROAST this Friday.

I am dedicating myself to losing weight, especially after I saw my 4 chins and 3 asses on FB! LOL!! No more 2 glasess of, ok 3, of Pinot anymore.. slow and steady takes the wheel..I just want to feel great!

What do your children want for Christmas..mine want IPADS, duh, so do I, not.. we are leaning towards Kindle Firestar!! look it up on amazon way cheaper and awesome!

FALL.. I adore this time of year.. Pumpkin bread, apple Streusal muffins, Halloween and Thanksgiving..and if you live below the Mason/Dixon line, finally a break in the temperature. I love wearing sweaters, wraps, cardigans...I love to cuddle with my girly's..I love to make them hot chocolate with a big fluffy marshmallow!

My middle girly went to pick apples with her BFF and brought our family back all of these apples she picked herself..and a jar of apple butter for her mama, my personal fave.

I am pooped..I catered an Engagement party for (100) maybe, maybe! 40 showed, kind of sad! They loved the food..and when the pics come in I will post. I hope y'all are enjoying this most wonderful time of the year..

First of all, I would like to personally thank GOD for such a glorious weekend, it was very well appreciated in this household!

First of all, the baby girly went to Raleigh,NC with my husbands sister for a visit with her cousins..the Auntie spoils my little poopsie..Pumpkin Patch, bowling, bubble forest, "camp out' at church... she was exhausted..

Middle Girly went to the SC State Fair Friday with her BFF"S and Saturday participated in our cities USMC Mud Run..Loved it and spent the weekend with her BFF!

Oldest Girly earned some cash by helping me cater this weekend(Friday) and Saturday we watched our beloved GAMECOCKS squeek out a win over the Bulldogs from Mississippi ST.!

So sad, Marcus Lattimore will be out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL!. We wish him a full and fast recovery but realize there is NO I in TEAM!! Unless you were on Auburn's team last year,,jk!

I made Oatmeal Craisin Cookies with white chocolate chips..for SIL, for taking the baby and some for our older neighbors..and of course, for the family

I made chicken enchiladas for a friend who had a baby girl last Monday and Chicken and Rice Casserole with a side of green beans for dinner..I am NOT a fan of casseroles but the girly's loved it..score..trifecta when they all enjoy what I make..the baby is so picky lately.

Funny story..speaking of the baby and her sweet tooth. Her Raleigh cousin has Crohn's disease, so they are on a very strict Organic, Gluten free diet..no sodas either, but we don't have those either, anyway, first thing when she gets home is hug me and says PUHLEESE get me some candy and gum..I am have withdraws!! LOL!! Daddy O bought her a snickers..

I am a licensed South Carolina Driver!!! Whew! So at 47, I let my SCDL expire..and was required to take the Vision(tricky)passed, Knowledge(who knew we had so many ROAD SIGNS) and Driving(parallel parking) parts of the test. I am happy to report I PASSED all THREE!! Oh and I got my rental car..a Jeep and I love it!! No Hubby I don't want a new car, I will NEVER have a car payment again after my Suburban(winnebago) is paid off!

this is easy peasy and delish!!
Spray crockpot with PAM
add 3 boneless, skinless chicken breast, stab with a knife a little..salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic
add 1 block of 1/3 less fat cream cheese..smush around on chicken
add 1 can of each..Rinsed and Drained Black Beans and Corn
season again..say with ADOBE seasoning..or more chili powder
add 1 can of Rotel Tomatoes
cook on low 6-8 hours
if you are home stir every 3 hrs. if not your ok!
take off lid and shred with 2 forks
serve over yellow rice YUM or roll up in a tortilla!
perfect for family of 5 with NO leftovers!!

I just put a PORK BUTT in the el crockeroo and we will be having BBQ sandwiches with slaw and a sweet pickle for Gameday..kickoff 3:30pm..the fighting Gamecocks of the University of SC will tackle the reigning Nat'L Champion Auburn Tigers..GOOOOOOOOOOCOCKS!

I got 3 back to back catering jobs$$!( i have a small catering co. on the side) My loan month is decent based on record low rates, but I always feel we can never enjoy the fruits of our Labor because we always rob Peter to pay Paul..Just as I was thanking GOD for my windfall..he reminded me to be more careful of my spending on unnecessary wants... So my husband has a Cold... ugh! Is it just my husband, or every man out there that acts like I am operating on him without anesthesia! Men are such babies.. I am not kidding, he laid in bed all day yesterday, which he never, ever does. My husband is not a napper either so this really just put me over the edge. I am so damn mean.. I hate that I am. I did make him hot tea with lemon and homemade chicken noodle soup, but it ends there..I am NOT a good nurse.. Nurse Ratchett maybe, but not a sympathizer. I do not coddle the sick.. I make you soup, tea, water, juice..but I don't sit by your bedside and pat your back.. I say go to sleep you will feel better and shut the door... Now that I think of it... My oldest got her permit yesterday, her braces off a few weeks ago..next 10th grade.. I don't know if I am ready for all of this! We waited in a NON-AIR CONDITIONED DMV for an hour and a half BEFORE she took the test. I wish I had the guts to take pictures of the odd people in there and their clothing choices. It went from hoochie shorts to obese people in skin tight clothing.. I leaned over to my daughter and said : "see, I told you we were normal"! She and I both had a quick laugh, because right there at that moment we were on the same page. I love her so much. I taught her how to make coffee last night, so you would think a child that makes straight A's could master pour water in.. put filter in.. add coffee. turn on.. right? WRONG! LOL she made it today and said " uh, mommy somethings not right" and I said laughing.. " you have to put the coffee in to MAKE coffee"! Oh well, I guess she still needs me..sigh

All in all a fun summer but I am pooped, oh and did I mention a flood downstairs..again! It's all good, we needed new carpet! How's that for the glass half full! I took time for ME... No Laundry, No children, No housework!! Brand new never worn Land's End sneakers I never returned,, $5.00 sold.. I gave things away! The best part of the day.. baby girly thought to have a Lemonade Stand and netted $14.00, which she quickly spent $2.00 on TWO Vera wallets!, and saved the rest for the "snack bar" at the pool so she won't charge it!! Thanks..that's why had the Yard Sale for..to foot that bill!

So we went to Wild Dunes for Spring Break and on the last day.. I get an early morning call from my husband (unusual).. his mother had a Massive Stroke and is not expected to live.. OMG!! I hurrily pack up the girls and friends and calmly head back to Columbia..she died that night, surrounded by her 12 children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and niece. It hit me hard! My mother in law has NEVER been sick.except the one time she had walking pneumonia. Never a pill, nothing, just a 3 mile walk everyday and good eating habits. She was our rock..slow, soft and steady... never one to give her "2 cents", just loved you the way you were.

The girls finished school.. All A Honor Roll and a 5th Grade graduation,and dance recital for my middle girly. Oldest girly is chomping at the bit to get her PERMIT! Yikes..when did she grow up!

Little baby girly.finshed 2nd grade whew! Her baseball team finished 2nd in the playoffs and she did quite well, considering she was the ONLY girl.. they loved her, well, most of them anyway!

Spent 2 days at the pool and I must say alittle color on the cheeks has done alot for my morale, don't you just feel healthier with sun-kissed cheeks!

We are going to Charleston, SC, Isle of Palms to the Wild Dunes Resort! Weather is going to be perfect upper 70's low 80's! We are leaving Sunday and returning Wednesday, just enough of a break, but not enough to make them think it's summer! I fret, because my hubby isn't invited we were invited by my middle girly's friends mom whose family owns the condo and it is a GIRLS Vacay! So basically, free accommodations, however I am showing up with

I have to say I don't really like my job that much.. more book work than I expected and they switched (I am going to have to) QuickBooks over to a new system..quite frankly they don't pay me enough to do all of this BS, however, I am excited I am employed, but I am currently looking for a REAL job with benefits and a 401 K and vacation,,yada yada! I am not an accountant...

My little slugger got a base hit Monday night and fielded a ball and threw to 2nd to end an inning, however they lost 9-7! Tonight we are back at the ballfield!!

I mean, I just cannot for the life of me catch a break, however, I do have ONE thing going for me FAITH! I cannot even begin to fathom what this journey would have been like if I ddin't have my trust and faith in GOD. I know, this too shall pass, and I will look back and reflect on this as a learning lesson, but dang it is hard. We were hit hard in our pockets and pocketbooks this year..but we are healthy and most importantly happy people who with our love and FAITH can weather any storm.. hey do you mind saying a little prayer for the Cleary family..it would make my heart happy!

my middle girly's birthday!! Mallory is going to be eleven!! Oh my, I just cannot believe it is true. Mallory was my tiniest baby 7lbs. 10.5oz and 19 in. long! She was and is just perfect, just the right amount of freckles sprinkled on her milky white Irish Skin, a beautiful head of sun-kissed brown hair perfectly coiffed in a pony or BOB and always dressed for success..(school), where she strives for success always on the Mostly A and B honor roll. She is quite the musical girl both in dance and drama and trying out and accomplishing several solo spots this year! She is somewhat moody at times and wears her heart on her sleeve (most like me) at that age, not as moody anymore..(me). She is beginning to wonder into the , how shall I say it, more mature version of herself, and quite frankly I don't like it, although she has a younger sister, I always have felt like she is my baby, I don't kow why, NO she is NOT my favorite.. just something about her makes me want to protect her, I don't know why, she is steadfast in her convictions, who she likes and DOES NOT like and she cannot be swayed just because someone is POPULAR, she would rather be friends with someone she likes and who likes her NO PHONINESS with her..

I am taking her and 2 of her girlfriends to Charleston tomorrow after school for the weekend..picture to follow. HAppy Birthday MOO!

Cookbook, Ghiardelli chocolate, candles, wonderfully scented soaps that made the whole house smell heavenly when I opened the box, cupcake plate and a SPA kit..the hubby said, how did she know you needed a pedicure? Everytime I look at this picture I get a good chuckle. June 2009 my "poor" husband had to work in Charleston, SC for 8 months, and we had a condo at Waterfront park on Vendue Range. We "sadly" went to see him every weekend and the girly's were able to frolick in the Fountain and run around in historic parks whilst daddy and I were nearby sipping "drinks".. anyhoo, imagine my surprise when I went to print these pictures.. we seperated briefly to shop and the baby conned her Daddy into getting her ears pierced!!! I ran into oldest girly at Ann Taylor loft and she said Emme's getting her ears pierced at Claire's.. Dad tried to call you!! I dropped what I had and ran..walked down to Claire's and when I looked in the window..there she sat, so tall and so proud and not one single tear.. She is beyond thrilled.. and oh. by the way, she wanted to wear her hair down today and not in her standard barbie flip... I think my tomboy is getting girly!! The middle girly was so happy for her she was giddy that she is making the turn to prissy like her!

clearly I am not a photgrapher.. oh well. The 2 youngest girlies BOTH lost a tooth on Halloween..scary!! Little girlie was under the weather, but managed to make a turn around the block.. they were all in their PJ's by 8:04PM except Oldest girlie, she was at a party til 11:00pm! YIKES, boy the stories she told.. and only ninth graders! YIKES!

so Daddy decided to buy 10 more pumpkins and carve away..all day with the girlies and neighborhood friends! My two younger girls are going as "flappers" and my oldest is going as "FLO" from the PROGRESSIVE commercials!! I will post pictures for sure!!

Please be safe, do not eat too much candy and most of all have fun. I try to act like I don't like Halloween, but it's ok!! :)!

My tennis team is going to MOBILE,ALABAMA for the REGIONALS!! We are all still in shock!! I had a great time in Charleston...as always. Did a little shopping, had to get the girlies a treat and one for Tiger for handling the duties ALONE! I bought myself a pair of SILVER GLITTER TOM'S.. to die for, I love them!!

My combo tennis team is headed to States in majestic Daniel Island SC!! I am so proud of these ladies, we have come a long way baby.. Our Club's 5.5 combo is headed down too, makes for a good time. Hope we can bring back a win.

Although I am excited to go on a 3 day BREAK from my family, why do I cry when I leave? Seriously, I hate leaving, I am petrified that I am going to get in a car crash, or something will happen to them while I am away. Somebody once told me that that was the DEVIL, that I need to put GOD in charge, so I am . Here is to GOD being in charge.. I will no longer worry.. ok maybe a little!!
