my life...
has been going full speed ahead..I received a promotion at work..I am tickled about!! I really enjoy working 8;30- 5..I never thought those words would echo from my lips!!
My oldest daughter receives her 1st Varsity letter in Tennis, I am so proud of her..her team went to the State finals but lost to 5 time reigning champion Hilton Head.
My girls are getting older and their wants and needs are getting expensive.. so far the Christmas Wish list:
Bacon..the good kind: the baby
Patagonia: middle girly
Anthropologie: oldest girly
not to mention, bicycles, IPads, IPods, Boots, Tory Burch flats (laugh), Starbucks gift cards..Makeup, flat iron, mani/pedi's..the list goes on and on.. Me..I want to enjoy the smell of my evergreen candles, our beautiful tree a houseful of poinsettia's, hot cocoa, and s'mores.. I love the holidays..but dang I feel overwhelmed about everything I have to do...on the weekends now! Hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving..we spent the day with my hubby's family..there were only 37 of us!!

"10 Things You Do That Your Non-Mom Friends Hate"
1. Oversharing. You survived the marathon of pregnancy/delivery, and you’re proud of it. Still, lots of people who haven’t pushed another human being out of their most intimate of orifices would prefer never to hear terms like “mucus plug,” “episiotomy” or “placenta” in conversation. Save the clinical talk for your mommy group and stick to less-graphic terms when your friends ask about birth.
**If you ask, I am going to be honest...that's just how I am. I don't hold back unless I'm instructed to, and coming from someone who didn't know a lot about birthing a child, I think people need to understand it's not like it's portrayed in the movies-it's just not that glamorous. But, you get an AMAZING prize for all that hard work!
2. Abusing basic kindness. Here’s something that may be hard to hear: Not everyone who asks to hold the baby actually wants to hold the baby-at least not for hours at a stretch. As desperate as you may be to get a break, if you take advantage of your friends’ offers to bounce the baby and sneak off to take a luxurious bubble bath or comb the mall, they eventually will stop offering.
**I don't take bubble baths so maybe this doesn't apply to me? You can pretty much tell who feels comfortable holding your baby and who may be a bit nervous. I was SO scared of holding newborns until I held my own that I can totally relate. As for offering to watch the baby while I shower, grab a bite to eat, etc...this is MUCH appreciated and the kindness will be returned one day.
3. Putting your baby on the phone. “Please don’t ask me to talk to your infant on the phone,” says Katie. “I can understand a toddler who can actually talk, but I doubt a two-week-old will have anything interesting to say.” It’s not that your friends aren’t interested in your offspring-they just aren’t quite as riveted by every gurgle and coo as you are.
**Putting a newborn on the phone...well, I did that with my Mom from time to time, but that was just so Caroline could hear her voice. Thank heavens for FaceTime though-great technology so people can SEE the baby making cute faces and such.
4. Making disgusting requests. “I was at a restaurant with a good friend and her baby,” recalls Kristin. “She handed him over and said, ‘I think he needs a bath. Do his neck rolls smell?’ Please don't ask me to smell your baby.” Similarly, don’t ask her to analyze poop, wipe spit-up off your back or give your bottled breast milk the "whiff" test. If she’d like to help, she’ll let you know.
**GROSS...it's clearly evident when something is lurking in a diaper I assure you and I would never pawn that off on anyone other than my immediate family for fear that would cause my close girlfriends to NEVER partake in having a baby.
5. Complaining constantly. Nobody's saying that being a mom isn’t hard, but chances are you chose this diaper-lined path-and regularly lamenting how tough your new role is doesn't just make you sound bratty, it can make you appear smug and superior. Also, “You don’t need to remind us every 10 minutes that girls' nights, book club, camping trips and date nights are off-limits now because parenting is such an important responsibility.”
**True friends want to hear that it's not a piece of cake, that there are good AND bad days, and they don't mind listening to you ramble on about not sleeping....I thought that is why we had friends in the first place? I don't tell strangers these random things, but I will open up tp my best girl friends-DUH. I try to be there for them and I expect to listen to them one day when they are going through this, too. And yes, unfortunately, some commitments have to take a backseat to motherhood. I miss out on fun things from time to time, but then I remember Jeff and I chose this path and I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world...Caroline is EVERYTHING to us. If some people don't understand that, then maybe you don't have as much in common with them as you once thought.
6. Pretending to pay attention. All moms are guilty of it: trying to have a conversation and discipline a toddler at the same time. That scenario looks a lot like this: “'Yeah, that sucks that he dumped you, but EMILY, PUT YOUR BROTHER DOWN...I'm sorry, I'm listening. Being dumped sucks, but you know EMILY! STOP HITTING YOUR BROTHER! But at least you've only been dating for five years EMILY, DON'T MAKE ME COME IN THERE...What? Oh, no-now’s a fine time!’ Just call me back for God’s sake. I don't mind!”
**I am guilty of this...heck, I think we all are-not just moms. I think sometimes we all need to disengage from Facebook/Twitter/and all other forms of social media and really focus our attention on what someone is telling us. Let them know they are a priority and if you can't listen then, tell them you'll call them back when you can!
7. Turning Facebook into Babybook. The baby drank six whole ounces! Then she burped! Here’s her post-burp smile! Now she’s napping! While you might argue that your kid-free friends’ timelines are no less tedious, the truth is, nobody needs a minute-by-minute recap of your little bundle’s every breath. Post a few cute pictures and be done with it.
**I used to cringe when people would have babies, and EVERY SINGLE picture they posted on FB was of the peanut. Now, on the other hand, I totally get it. I don't post pictures on FB as much as I used to, just because I'd rather put them here on the blog or only share with friends and family. I think that is totally a personal choice, but that's how I choose to handle. Not to mention uploading takes forever and I am not tagging my child in pictures :).
8. Acting superior. Yes, you had a baby-which means statements like, “You’d understand if you were a parent,” might seem totally legit. Still, they can sting, especially if you use them out of context. And even after your best friend has kids of her own, maybe she won't be the sort to bail on a girls’ night out because her baby has a 99-degree fever.
**I don't think anyone is superior just because they have a baby...that is just strange.
9. Making assumptions. Quit asking your baby-free friends if they’re “trying” (to conceive, that is). We know, there’s probably not an ounce of malice in the question-after all, you just want them to experience the same joy that you have. But it could be considered pushy or presumptuous. “Not everyone is Fertile Myrtle,” says Trisha. As hard as it may be, assume that your buddy will share the glorious news when there’s glorious news to be shared, and until then, keep your mouth shut about it.
**I can understand this...as soon as you get married, people suddenly start asking when you're going to have a baby. Lucky for us, we didn't have to answer that question because it happened so quickly. Others close to me have had a harder time, and sometimes I long for them to be able to experience motherhood, too. That's when I have to look to God and tell myself He has plans for all of us and I need to give my trust to Him. I think we have all been guilty of making these assumptions at some point, but just remember we all have different situations to deal with, and to be sensitive to that because you may not know the whole story.
10. Bringing the baby anywhere and everywhere. Of course you want to show off your stunning spawn-but not all events and activities are appropriate for little ones. Plus, you deserve some grown-up time. For sanity’s sake, every once in a while you need to hand baby to dad, hire a sitter or enlist grandma’s services and go be your old, fun, fabulous self. Jeff and I also try to plan a date night at least 1 time a month (thanks to our fabulous babysitter Alex), and we are fortunate that my parents and grandparents are ALWAYS wanting to babysit Caroline so we can go do stuff just as husband and wife. I agree wholeheartedly that you need time together as a family, and time just as a couple... this is HUGE!

a new POST..
well, it has only been 25 days..not too too long!! we have been very busy, but so is everyone else right?
we have been to Soccer games, Volleyball matches, tennis matches.. work..tailgating..and raking up 1 million plus piles of pinestraw!!
The weather here is beautiful and the heat has, I think, decided to take a break and leave us with crisp cool weather.
we have been gearing up for Halloween..my least favorite occassion, but the kids love it..so i have to love it too.. I, however, do love the candy..I love a maryJane!!

So delish...
Grape Salad
3lbs. of Green and Red Grapes (seedless) washed and stemmed
8 oz. of softened Cream Cheese
8 oz. of Sour Cream
1/2 cup of sugar
1 cup of chopped pecans
dash of vanilla
blend and whip together..ADD Grapes
put in large bowl and..
top with
1/2 cup of Brown sugar mixed with 3 crushed Butterfinger Candy bars.
Refrigerate at least 3 hours
I am not kidding, this is addictive. enjoy..let me know what you think.

changes...
Change is good right? Well, I know one thing..it is nine times out of ten inevitable.. I got the call today..you know, the one where, the 7th graders tummy hurts.. we are not there yet but I think my little 12 year old..who has the sophistication of a 20 year old..is, as she said.."about to make the change"!
I cried a little on my way to pick her up..the whole reality of my daughters growing up..so fast just hit me. I stay busy with these girls, school, sports, social etc..it is hard to sit back and just be..and today as I was driving.I sat and was just being..and thinking. these girls are good girls, so far so good, I hope it continues, I know my husband and I have taught them to be strong, but they are all still so naive and sweet that I worry about them in this big bad, but also good world.. trust in GOD I thought..he is in control after all. so today, when I see my girls, an extra hug and a stare..I want their face etched in my mind..

Cinnamon Buns...
Easy Peasy!! Enjoy..may want to reduce dollop in muffin tin..makes a LOT of glaze!!
Ingredients
12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/3 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
1/2 cup pecans, chopped in very large pieces
1 package (17.3-ounces/ 2-sheets) frozen puff pastry, defrosted
For the filling:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2/3 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 cup raisins
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Place a 12-cup standard muffin tin on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the 12 tablespoons butter and 1/3 cup brown sugar. Place 1 rounded tablespoon of the mixture in each of the 12 muffin cups. Distribute the pecans evenly among the 12 muffin cups on top of the butter and sugar mixture.
Lightly flour a wooden board or stone surface. Unfold 1 sheet of puff pastry with the folds going left to right. Brush the whole sheet with the melted butter. Leaving a 1-inch border on the puff pastry, sprinkle each sheet with 1/3 cup of the brown sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons of the cinnamon, and 1/2 cup of the raisins. Starting with the end nearest you, roll the pastry up snugly like a jelly roll around the filling, finishing the roll with the seam side down. Trim the ends of the roll about 1/2-inch and discard. Slice the roll in 6 equal pieces, each about 1 1/2 inches wide. Place each piece, spiral side up, in 6 of the muffin cups. Repeat with the second sheet of puff pastry to make 12 sticky buns.
Bake for 30 minutes, until the sticky buns are golden to dark brown on top and firm to the touch. Be careful - they're hot! Allow to cool for 5 minutes only, invert the buns onto the parchment paper (ease the filling and pecans out onto the buns with a spoon) and cool completely

Football...
How 'bout those Gamecocks...how 'bout they almost got beat..but they didn't and I cannot wait for our first home game against the East Carolina Pirates!! Game days are so much fun around here..I live in Columbia, SC.home of the University of SC so to say the air is electric around here is truly an understatement.. All of the boys in their favorite players jerseys and little girls in their cheerleading outfits..everyone decked out in school colors..it gets you fired up..even if you are watching at home..in a man cave..with the fam..serving up gameday food..and libations.. GO GAMECOCKS!!

Thoughts for Thursday...
if it doesn't stop raining in Columbia SC, I am going to lose my mind!! I love rain, but sheesh..I am beginning to I think I need to collect 2 of everything and take up residence on an ARK!

Monday, Monday...
It is back to school here in the Cleary house!! After a minor setback..power outage at 4am, we are getting ready to roll.. New outfits, new tennis shoes..for the 9 year old..and a new ride for the 16 year old..and a NEW job for momma!!..this is going to be a great year.. Working on my 2nd cup of coffee, putting the back to school dinner in the crockpot (Pot Roast) and lunches in the lunch boxes.. we are ready to roll!! Have a great school year Y'all!!

I have the sweetest, kindest husband in the whole wide world.. He is an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.. My husband doesn't miss a day of work and always seizes the opportunity to work long hours for his family.. so this is my Thankful Thursday.. I love you Tiger!

Sheesh! I was trying, and I use that term loosely, to be consistent writing this Blog, but, it seems that I am so important and busy that time just slips away from me!
I am so tired everyday around 3pm, that I started having High Coffee like the Queen,except, instead of tea and instead of 4pm, you know, to give me that extra pep in my step to make it through my second shift as wife and mother..First shift is for working...ugh!
So my girls start school, 3 different I might add, on Monday. I am both glad and sad. Sad, we will be on a formal routine and sad we won't be on a formal routine!! Back to school shopping Saturday..new Tennis shoes, cleats, flats, cutesy new outfits, not alot, because let's get real, here in the South you can wear shorts through October!
We are planning a nice labor Day getaway since we did not travel this summer due to my surgery and our work schedules...I am thinking Savannah, Ga. Any thoughts???

a recipe...
I saw this on Pinterest..and it is delish!! We, my husband, makes alot of Jams(fig) so good, and spicy relishes and his own HOT SAUCE..he is really a very creative cook.. anyway, a new favorite..delicious with Brie..
Maple Bourbon Bacon Jam
A sweet, salty, smoky, spicy and down right tasty bacon jam that is the definition of umami! This bacon jam goes well on toast for breakfast and makes for a great condiment in sandwiches and burgers of all sorts!
Servings: makes 1-2 cups
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour 50 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours

Ingredients
1 pound thick smoked bacon, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 large onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 cup cider vinegar
3/4 cup coffee
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup bourbon
2 chipotle chilis in adobo, chopped
1/2 teaspoon cumin
pepper to taste
Directions
1.Cook the bacon in a large sauce pan an over medium heat until the fat has rendered and the bacon starts to get crispy and set aside, reserving 1 tablespoon of the grease in the pan.
2.Add the onions and saute until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
3.Add the garlic and saute until fragrant, about a minute.
4.Add the vinegar and deglaze the pan.
5.Add the coffee, brown sugar, maple syrup, bourbon, bacon, chipotle chilies, cumin and pepper, reduce the heat and simmer until reduced to a syrupy consistency, about 1-2 hours.
6.Process the jam in a food processor to smooth it out a bit but not too much as you want to have the texture of the bacon.
7.If you do not finish it all in one sitting, store it in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.

August 7th? What!! I feel like I have been steam rolled this summer..between work, the girls and my surgery, this summer has flown by!
I feel terrible, we didn't take one vacation this summer... my girls have been to the beach but I sadly have not!

summertime...
It has been unbearably hot as everyone in the South knows, but that hasn't stopped us! We sweltered at the pool saturday and once you cooled off and went under in the water it was more tolerable. The girls have kept busy..the oldest has been babysitting..the middle girly just got back from 10 days at camp and the little girly has stayed busy with swim team and running around the "hood"!
I am having a hysterectomy on the 10th and will be out of commission for a bit..thank goodness the oldest drives now, I can't even tell y'all how much of a help that has been already! I was so apprehensive, like any mother, I am sure to let her drive, but honestly it has been great!
I hope you have a safe and happy 4th, we are going over to the BIL's for a cookout and swim party..should be nice.

It is 4:10 am ...
and I am reading BLOGS!! Seriously, this has got to stop!! i have been waking up like this for a week.. I have been working like a dog..chasing my tail really, to get these loans closed and I am just tired..so I think when i hit it..the bed, I hit it hard..and then wake up at 3-4 am.., except I can't do anything or I will wake everyone up! So here I sit and read...
Please say a prayer for a 14 year old friend of ours recently diagnosed with Bone Cancer..she may lose her arm.. I signed up for a Meal and she loves meatballs..so I am making spaghetti and meatballs..the simple wants of a child.. They said her cancer is Stage 4 and very agressive and her Chemo is going to be Gut Wrenching..her name is Abi..
On a sidenote: GO GAMECOCKS we have to win tonight!! Beat Kent State..baseball!

Gamecocks...
If you are not from the South and especially right here in SC, you are probably wondering..what the heck is a Gamecock? well, it is the mascot for the Unversity of South Carolina!
Now, moving right along..because I am so ADD..our 2 Time, ahem, back to back National Championship Baseball Team is going to Omaha for a 3 peat as they try to win again!! Y'all, this is no ordinary team of players.. First of all, they are smart..leading all athletics in GPA totals, they are grounded, quirky, funny and they are just tough..they always seem to rally and battle it out to the win.
we start our first best of three against the Florida Gators saturday at 9PM and those boys are going to be hard to beat.. Please say a prayer for our boys, led by Ray Tanner, a stand up man and probably one of the finest Coaches there is. To say this town, Columbia, is buzzing with excitement is an understatement..everywhere you go people are sporting their Garnet and black and USC shirts..I love living in a college town.
As the mother of 3 girls..I thank god everyday, because if my son played ball..well, I would be a raving lunatic!!

Opinions please!! Well, I think she has the right to be proud that her daughter graduated from High School, but this is just in bad taste. Others could not hear their childs name being called because of her cackling..you know, they call your names so fast. bad manners I think..
my neighbors daughter recently graduated and she said it was downright crazy the way people were acting.. seriously?? click on heading, I believe there is a video! People carry on at 5th grade promotion too, I have never seen such a thing!

I am so happy...

to hurt anyone about my previous Post on the Meth Addicts! My children are taught daily at school about the repucussions of drug Addiction, Smoking and Alcoholism! Anonymous, our current TV ADS show people suffering the horrific consequences about Smoking, another addiction.. did you call the local TV stations and tell them you thought they were mean? I, too, like you feel terribly for these souls..makes my heart break in fact, but it is my job as a mom to show them what drugs can do to you..right? I have had 2 close firends of mine who lost children way before their time due to drug overdoses..I never judged them, I felt down right sorry for them, but feeling sorry didn't help them. I am sorry if you think I am heartless, just the opposite in fact..but I just wanted to show my girls what drugs can do to them..

Memorial Day...
I love my country, the men and women who served and continue to do so..and I love our FLAG..the ultimate symbol of freedom.
Our plans...Pool, grill out and getting middle girly ready for a week at the beach with a friend..that girl has it going on and in June..she is going to Camp for 10 days..quite the social butterfly.. Baby girly starts swimming lessons tomorrow, everyday thereafter for and hour and a half everyday..should keep her figure in tact from all of her trips to the "free" snack bar! Oldest girly is getting her license this week, so she will be a great help to me with the girls this summer!
Hubby is off this week and I have made him quite the list..see, when he is off, he literally thinks he doesn't have to do a thing!! when is my free week of nothing? don;t even get me started on that conversation!!
Looks like we may be headed for rain all week, ugh! I just need a little color on the cheeks and I will be fine!

Mother's Day...
It was a wonderful Sunday..and I can honestly say it was one of my all time favorite Mother's Day..aside from my first!
My girls were so sweet and all 3 wrote me a message and made me a card, instead of buying one..oh, that's right, they don't have any money. Their own words and what they think of you are priceless..all 3, without looking at each others cards, made mention of everything I do for the family..I loved that, because I am glad they appreciate the fact that it isn't easy. My dear sweet husband even wrote me a card and to say I was overwhelmed, well, that is an understatement. I had a wonderful day and I hope you all did too. I miss my own mother, but was reminded of her all day in my girls smiles and her laughter..

Friday..
Baseball playoffs @5:45..and over to the SIL's house for pizza, salad and much needed spirits!! After a jam packed day at work..I rushed to get middle girly to Sports Physical(cheerleading) so we could go to the orientation and turn in paperwork at 6! Well, I dropped her of at 6:10pm , the Dr. was busy.. had to rush home and get baby girl to dance @ 6 who now arrived at 6:20..went to the gym to join middle girl and turns out she can't try out until June 20th..when she will be considered a JV rising 7th grader!! WTH! I just spent $45.00 on a Physical..that she didn't pass HA..I will get into that in a minute, which could have gone towards my Mother's Day gift..and she will be at Camp June 20th..so she said forget it she will tryout next year.. My daughter has Pulmonary Stenosis... a narrowing of her pulmonary valve..she has been under Cardiac care since she was 6 months old.. she never had to have a stent..and it gradually grew wider, but, she had to have pre-meds before dental cleanings yada yada..and a very distinct heart murmur.. Well, last summer she was released from Cardiologist for 5 years because everything looked great and No longer needs pre-meds..moving right along..Doc in the Box wouldn't clear her w/out orders from cardiologist.. seriously, I almost needed a XANAX after my day was over.. Did I just ramble..sorry, I just had to take 2 dozen cc cookies to baby girls party, 2 bags of cool ranch doritos and lemonade, drop the dog off at the groomers(bath) she is a mutt.. grocery store..home..then bank, gas, carpool... WASH, RINSE, REPEAT!!!

So many events in May, don't you agree. Mother's Day!! I hope my girly's just make me a card..I love that the mostest! Middle girly is trying out for JV Cheerleading...rising 7th grader. Do y'all think that is too young or am I crazy? End of the year parties. baby girly's baseball team made the playoffs..S*#T..kidding Yay!! End of the year school cookout, baseball and soccer parties and yet another teacher gift and I am in charge of her class symbol party..good behavior party..whatev, they should behave! Oldest girly is preparing for her license and has several irons in the fire job wise! our pool opens may 18th and I am so ready..but will probably wait until Memorial day weekend.
If you follow my Blog..I had my girly check up and everything is Fine!! WooHoo! she still would like to speak to me..hopefully about removing my parts..again..kidding..not!!
also, Jury duty.. seriously, they need a better system..and the Dad's that were walking out of Family Court that paid their Child Support..G R O S S!! I am glad we have a good man living in this house!
work has been hectic also..loans are picking up with the Interest Loans being so low!!

Jury Duty update..
the only thing I enjoyed today was lunch with a girlfriend from High School..The guy seated to the right of me reeked of cigarettes. The woman seated to the left me was panic stricken they were going to with hold water from her. they called 289 jurors..60 thought they were going to get out of it..only 5! I was NOT chosen praise Jesus but had to call in at 6pm to receive my instructions for tomorrow and was told to report back at 11am! UGH! Seriously, I cannot fathom that some of these citizens are going to chose the fate of the person charged. many people were employed at Lowe's, US Postal service, Ft. Jackson Military base and drumroll..alot were unemployed.
I will remember to pack a water bottle that lady to the left was onto something..I was parched! LOL!

Little hands and Big hands...
Ok, my question is. why must my children dry their hands on A: the shower curtain (9)year old.and B: the Monogrammed "display" towel..WHEN..I CLEARY lay out a fresh hand towel on the vanity everyday?? It is disturbing, the hand towel is NEver and I repeat, never used!! UGH! Anyone else have something your quirky kids do, or is it just mine.. Have a wonderful Cinco de Mayo and Kentucky Derby weekend! we have a ball game tonight and are going to our Club's Kentucky derby party tomorrow..best hat wins a prize.

A Visit..
well, I did it! I haven't been to the "female" doctor in oh, I don't know, like 5 years, so i decided..encouraged by my dear friend who is going through breast Cancer..to go to the GYM..Get Your Mammogram! So I went.. and to my shock and surprise they did a biopsy, because I think I am going through menopause..and have experienced unusual bleeding..I know TMI, but, I am telling y'all this, because if you are a scaredy cat like me..please don't put off the doctor.. I am also having a mammogram Thursday and going to the dermatologist in June.WTH!! I am finally going to put my insurance card to good use!
I feel kind of calm..which is weird, because I am a worry wart. I am not worried about the test results, I feel great that I went, and know it had to be done. of course I prayed that everything will be normal..but worry gets you nowhere.
Ok.. Fifty Shades of Grey..book one down..and onto Book 2..this is more of a 20's 30's read, but since I bought all 3 on a recommendation from a 30ish friend I am reading them all. am intrigued by Christian Grey though..

A question...
Hubby and I have 2 tickets Friday Night for the USC vs. Alabama Baseball game.. baby girl has a baseball game..would it be rude to make arrangements for her to be dropped off and picked up while we go on a date..or should we give them away and go to her game..Her 15 year old sister will be with her during the game to cheer her on.. One of us is always at the game or both of us.. She is nine..

Quirks...
I didn't realize my "quirks" until my family.ie children and hubby brought it to my attention. So here are just a few.
1. I must vacuum rug in living room everyday in a pattern..and no one can walk on it..they must walk on hardwood(around it)
**just for a few hours*** sheesh
2. I must blow off our Deck everyday..I don't like the leaves..so shoot me
3. I hate when pinestraw(prevalent in SC) accumulates on the roof of our home(remove please)
4. All dishes MUST be out of the sink and in dishwasher. just plain cleanliness
5. All Beds must be made before we(they) leave the house. so what!
6. All pillows fluffed everyday..makes house look pretty.
7. Lawn..neat and clean..since I cancelled the YARD service..since I don't have a MAID service..this is hard for hubby to get done..but it does! HEE HEE
8. Towels..must be folded in three's..ok, I realize now I am sick!
9. I turn lights off constantly ARG!! Pet Peeve..hubby is the worst!
10. Laundry..must be Gain and Downey..but drumroll please..I recently purchased ERA at Sam's..pinching pennies, not bad, smells nice, but I am returning to GAIN!! I love the way our clothes smell.

I have had Jury Duty like 3 times in the last 5 years and I am not kidding.. why me? I mean it is fun to listen to a juicy case if I am picked..always, but most of the time boring..except the one DRUG case I sat on..very clever those drup people..who would have thought of delivering marijuana in a potato chip bag?..not me! Well, found out my friend from HS has it also, so we are going to meet up for lunch!!..so not too bad.

Saturday: Middle Girly is taking part for her 2nd time in the USMC MUD RUN..pictures later!

Oldest Girly..taking her last Driving Class..yikes.the thought of her driving makes me sick! No, really, I am panic stricken, and I pray daily for God to take this worry from me.
Sunday: baby girl has a baseball game

Social Butterfly...
my middle girly is constantly on the go... Friday night she spent the night with her BFF and went to see Titanic 3D..she said "ehh, I took my glasses off it wasn't any better and for $13.00! I thought it would be more real"!
Saturday the Bff's Dad took them to the USC (by that I mean SC) Spring Game..she said they watched a little but ran around the stadium..uh, ok!
Sunday the Bff's Dad (love him) took the girls to his parents place on Lake Murray for a day on the Lake! She had so much fun!
Me: cooked, cleaned, family get together(always fun),soccer game, baseball game..and drum roll please LAUNDRY..the gift that keeps on giving!!

Laundry and such...
for the record..and at this very..second..it is all done and PUT AWAY!!! We also cleaned out closets and donated to a family who needed it desperately.. without them knowing.. as oldest girly was purging her closet she came acrossed a pair of blue CROCS!! dear God in heaven we all laughed because we all owned a pair and laughed..what were we thinking! have a great day and God Bless Dallas and all that were affected by the wrath of the Tornadoes that swept Texas!

Lull and Dull...
I have had a LULL in posting because my life is so darn DULL!!
went to Charleston saturday for our dear friends 3 year old twin boys birthday party..that is always fun! hubs and I went out saturday night where I proceeded to carry on like I was in college again..most awesome time..VooDoo lounge in west Ashley..I heart you and the food is amazing!!
sunday we went to park Circle in N.Charleston..that area is booming and had a FABU lunch at DIG!! DELISH!
on the way home to Columbia..we went the back roads so oldest girly could get experience driving..that is a whole other post..I may or may not have severed that realtionship..we picked a bucket of strawberries and baby girly is eating them like they are her JOB..Hubby is off this week..SPRING BREAK and he is taking the girls to the dentist(cleanings) and doctor(well checkups) for me so I can WORK..isn't he the best! HA!
Thursday the Hubs and I are going back to Charleston for the Family Circle Cup ladies tennis tournament..we may or may not spend the night..with easter Sunday we need to pinch are pennies..shoes are staring to replace candy in the casa de Cleary!!

if you live in South Carolina like I do, this is what it feels like right now. we are so medicated in this family right now..and poor baby girl walks around with a box of Puff's..seeing Allergist during Spring Break!!(aren't I nice). when I put my head on my pillow every night..and say my prayers..am I being selfish when I plead with GOD to bring us rain? 50% today here in Columbia..I am doing a rain dance!! what's it like in your town? Simply Smashing...
that is the name of our Tennis Team..and I am happy to report I had my first win of the season..after 3..3rd set tiebreaker losses..we won 6-3 6-0!! Our team won also!! The pollen here in SC is HORRENDOUS, and my youngest girly and I are about to D I E!!! Seriously, if we do not get a rainfall/down pour soon..we may have to bunk down in this house..she plays soccer and baseball and I play tennis.so we have to be outside, but Dear God in heaven help us please..Claritin is like a placebo now!!
On a funny note, since she blows her nose non-stop her nose and above her lip are REALLY RED, so she puts concealer on it in the morning before school! LOL!

Middle Schoolers...
well, my middle girly is pretty easy going, you know, when things are going her way, not to say she's spoiled ,but she is very A type personality. she is immaculate in her looks, studies, cleanliness of room..she *irons her own clothes EVERY morning..and she just turned 12..are you with me! well, today, the hubby was off so he took the carpool for me so I could get to work an hour early..(yeah!)and he said to me>>"what time do you usually leave?" and i said "8:00 why? Ugh..because it's 8:10 exclaimed Hubby. so we both screamed MALLORY!! hurry up and y'all.. she just busted out in tears..and we both noticed she had changed FOUR times and her hair was not brushed..she gets up at 7!, no excuse.she really needs to start getting her clothes organized at night! hubby said she sniffled the whole way to school. I hate sending them upset like that, but her and her perfection are going to be the death of me..

a prime example...
So sunday was my sweet baby girls birthday, she turned 9 years old! We celebrated Saturday with a HUGE family (hubby is 1 of 12) backyard cookout, her idea, she loves her family.. We had a great day, which started off with her soccer teams FIRST ever win and ended with baby girl being showered with love and money for her "NEW" savings account.
Ok, so Sunday, she saved 2 of her cupcakes for the neighbor kids, you know the ones I talked about in a prior post who, at times are so mean to her.. So she was eating dinner and I said "did they like their cupcakes?" she said."yes, until Mr. "JERK" yelled at me!" HUH? she said, Well, he was in his car and I was going to shut his door for him and he said..are you ready..Drumroll please.."get your hands off my car and don't touch it again, I don't care if you are 9!!!" and ladies and gentleman, THIS IS WHAT ticks me off..who talks to a child like that..and the saddest part..she was beginning to accept this abuse and think it IS HER FAULT like abuse victims do..she said "maybe he thought I was going to slam his door..and I said NO, HE just doesn't have any manners..I am sorry, I couldn't hold it in..it is hard to seperate them, but my daughter shouldn't be privy to ABUSE because they are.. so anonymous, I am NOT STOOPING to their level..we tried being nice by saving the cupcakes for them and bam..beat my child down..not again!! BTW, I changed my comments, NO ANONYMOUS comments, if you have something to say own it and post your name..sheesh, I am old enough to accept constructive criticism. Am I being too sensitive? it made me so sad to see her justifying his redneck, hateful attitude!!

Thankful Thursday...
I am thankful that my husband comes from a BIG family and get togethers always involve 30 plus people..at least, and that is just immediate family!!
I am thankful that my business is picking up and homes are appraising and people are able to re-finance.
I am thankful that I have a loving family and things are going great..at the moment.
I am thankful for friends that I am surrounded with..and even the "anonymous" commentor who assumes who I know who they are..to watch my back.. seems like they would tell me that to my face or through an email... BTW..deleted their comment and the POST..don't want you all to get the wrong opinion of me
I am thankful..that this day is my busiest..and I have healthy girls that can do all they do.

Look who's 12!!
My middle girly turned 12 today... she is cute as a button, temperamental, sweet, kind, funny, stylish, caring, impatient, snarky and smart. She is a go getter, her confidence is stronger now than ever..she isn't afraid to try anything. I love this child..my sweet middle girl..you make your Daddy and I smile..you never sit still, you are always twirling, flipping and on the go..people love being your friend and you are a good friend to others.
I must say this girl has it going on..must be from a family member twice removed!! LOL!

Lent..
I love Lent...more than I love the New Year. You are probably wondering why aren't you. well, I love the fresh start of a NEW YEAR, but let's face it..after rolling off the HIGH of Christmas it is hard to get in the swing of things. with LENT..the weather, here in SC anyway, is starting to warm a bit(most days), Spring is right around the corner..and I am ready to give up and take up.
This year our whole family has given up sweet treats, and if you knew anything about us(not really me, I like savory) it will be a challenge..the baby loves her some skittles!! We also are not snacking or buying anything..with hopes of making a better donation to our church causes.
I am "borrowing" Kim. from 3 Peanuts idea of purging 40 bags of unwanted items for donation or just plain trash in 40 days..this should add a little more beauty to our bedrooms..living room, clutter free!
I hope GOD'S abundant love blesses us all, keeps us safe and helps us stick to our challenges.

We're having a PARTY...
kind of.. we are having people over for the Super Bowl this evening..I don't why, our Club is having a BYOB and a BYOA(appetizer..to share), but NO, I like to put the pressure on me and the Hubby to prepare delish food for neighbors and friends on a School Night!! so here is our menu, neighbors are bringing appetizers and one is bringing Wings, duh, guys can't watch football without Wings right, quite frankly, I am over Wings..so tell me what you think

they are listening..
As my middle daughter and I were watching TV together, or she was, and I was meticulously trying to paint her toes in her new Essie color she said something quietly under her breath. I can't even remember what show it was but she said "you give something from your heart, because you want too, not because you want praise"! I looked up from painting her cute little toes and said "what did you say"? she repeated herself, and I smiled, put the brush in the bottle and grabbed her face and kissed it! "you are so right Mally, give from your heart, no matter what it is..don't give to impress". I said, "gosh, you are so wise, where did you learn that"? and she said "from you Mommy, you always let people go in front of us in carpool, the grocery store and that time you took that old ladies shopping cart so she didn't have to walk it in". WOW! I am not telling you this for a WOW, but, it opened my eyes to the fact that these children watch our every move and how much they might emulate our behavior..I also realize, they have also seen the not so good..the one who says cuss words, gossips, and has had one too many glasses of vino..but I like to balance it out..don't want her thinking I am all good!

WEAK...
So... I reactivated my Facebook account ALREADY!! Really for 2 reasons. I had a dear friend recently get diagnosed for the 2nd time Breast Cancer and want to keep up with her..and she posts about it and secondly, my daughters former teacher who had to move to NC for a job for the Hubby, was recently diagnosed with MS. It is so sad that these ladies have to endure this at such young ages but I know through, faith and prayer it will make this journey easier to bear.
I have to admit I really didn't miss Facebook after a day or two, but it is truly amazing what happens in those few short days to all of us. We all need prayer.
The youngest is home for the 2nd day Strep throat.. is it just my children, but my girls don't sleep when they are sick.. My late mother used to say " if your not sleeping, you musn't be sick"!
I am working from home today and it is hard to do when you see all of the dust, laundry and dirty dishes..so I work a little, clean a LOT.. and before I know it..Carpool will be calling.
I think I am going to start posting Friday Foods, recipes that I love that are easy and inexpensive..ya know, sans the Truffle Oil! Have a Happy Hump Day!

I deactivated my account Thursday!! I mean, let's get real, I can log on and it will magically appear again, I just needed a break! I can list various reasons:
1. It was the first thing I checked in the morning after I made the coffee and nudged the girly's to get up. SICK
2. I am sick of peoples Wow look at me I am so awesome and I need you to confirm that with a "click" of the "like" button and a glowing comment.
3. 1000 pictures of your children.
4. 10,000 of your freakin dog!
5. Political opinions(bad manners)
6. How much money you have ie vacations, purchases, new everything yada yada

Blogs I LOVE!!
I just love to read all of my favorite Blogs once I get the girly's off to school. I go back and forth to which Blogs I like, love and hate.. i even read the ones I hate too.
My criteria for my favorite Blogs are so different
1. I enjoy the Blogs where the ladies are ahem, in my age group 40-50! Did I just say that?? we are real, we are raising post college down to elementary and we mostly discuss, paint colors, fabric swatches, recipes, unruly children, bitchy friends..you get the picture.. we also talk about God, Church, and Giving back
2. Mid Twenties.. ok these girls have it going on!! They read every parenting book, dress to the nines..no pukey gym clothes for these girls!! They make exotic meals for their husbands all the while having their bodies toned, their make up perfect and the house cleaned and everything labeled.. and they have lots of money!! I live vicariously through these girls..although, I think something is missing, and I am going to find out.
3. The college blogs! Enough said.. I want to be a Delta, delta, Delta again and Tailgate

I was reading through my December issue of Real Simple when I happenend upon an article regarding Facebook etiquette. I had to read it, for several reasons, A). I have none and B). I am NOT alone.
Let's start with A)., which is me! I usually like to have a generally uplifting or thought provoking quote as my Status or say something about the girls , such as a life lesson, picture of going to a dance etc. I do NOT status Yay, my daughters made all A's, are perfect and I am married to Brad Pitt the wonder husband, although he does receive his fair share of props. I am always amazed at people..people?, wait these are my so called damn friends, which brings me to B). who let us know every illness they have, every candidate they support, every cause they find thought provoking..sheesh! To me, it is annoying and nobody gives a crap, and if we do, God forbid we put our 2 cents in because we are clearly stupid and don't know Jack!
getting back to A). which is me.. I have said pretty snide comments, really not to be mean, but my opinion, which brings me to " If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"! So I guess I will be a cheerleader for everyone, which I find quite boring. I mean really, everytime you are sick, which is often, trust me.. do I need to say "feel better, thinking of you". Do i have to let you know that your child who you post 1,000 pictures of doing the say thing..is precious! I love seeing the pictures too, because by all accounts they are cute. And don't get me started on animal pictures, that are all blurry from your Iphone!
What I think I am getting at..and this is just my Opinion, it seems like there are a lot of people out there who need lots of attention and feedback to say how wonderful they are..
I mean one status the other day.. I made dinner tonight! Well, good, you are the mom and you should! Wow! you did the laundry today, you are amazing! maybe I am being a crabby pain in the arse today.. Blogs are this way too also. what happenend to just being...

well..
I started the job on Monday and was LET GO on Wednesday!! LOL!! Still trying to figure out what went wrong there..now I know what Sandra Bullock meant by BLINDSIDE!
Taught the baby a valuable lesson on Friday..after I signed her out of school on Friday at 11:30 and reprimanded her and sent her to her room until 8:00am saturday morning, I think she has a crystal clear picture who rules the Roost now! She woke up singing me a song on Saturday..she truly needs an attitude adjustment, she is a loving, caring and sharing girl, but she leans towards spoiled,IE daddy gets her what she wants, Mommy? Not so much!!
Middle girly..moving along nicely except when she informed her Daddy she missed Dance Company after school Tuesday( with the winter break she forgot, I get that), so on wednesday teacher asked where she was, since she is the lead dancer, and she may lose her spot now(Bitch), she told a little fib..said she had to go to her grandma's Birthday dinner and the teacher said..at 4? and she said. Yes M'am she lives out of town..uh yeah they have both passed away!! I wrote her an excuse..shoot me!
Oldest daughter..went to a friends birthday Dinner and spent the night..took her driving Sunday Night and i freaked a bit and screamed..brought her to tears..for that I am remorseful, because she is a truly sweet child who didn't deserve that.. Lots of making up to do there.
I really want to go to Nashville in may for the PEARL EVENT with paige, sibi oops one more.. anyone else?

Carpool Line...
I swear I could seriously gun through the line in the morning and go on a rage!! People cut in line, the walkers, who drive, park and then walk their little precious drive me crazy..they hold things up! I mean, if your kids in the 2nd grade and up, they do NOT need to be walked in..self-confidence people, that is what we are teaching them..independance.
