Should we stay or go???

I would love to move to a bigger home... except it is 40 minutes from where we live now and my middle child just can't be talked into it, who asked her anyway!! It is the house of my dreams and the schools are awesome, oh did I mention it has twice the square footage of our current home, a pool and summer IS right around the corner! Help me..

OH dear. That is a tough one cause Middle Schooler would have to change schools. I mean getting the larger home is a must cause as children grow up you need more space. Most won't agree with that, but when they marry, etc. you have double the people + grands, so the bigger home is a great thing. The transition to a new school could be tough. Can she handle it?? Oh - and you need a pool for sure!! Yes!!

Well, we decided to stay...although we weren't getting a bigger house, nor a nicer house, and we were losing the pool. Right now I'm not sure why we thought it was a good idea.

Having a pool is great, middle school is a good time to reinvent yourself (the "new girl" was always so popular at my kids' school) and she'll thank you someday for moving to a good school district.

Just make sure it's really someplace you could live. The best school district (high school area) here isn't all it's cracked up to be....so check it out before you plunk down the big bucks.

Better to move her while in middle school than high school! I can attest to that! Once she has her first pool party with her new friends - all will be well in the world.
Enjoy reading your blog - love your wit!

Such a tough decision....moving is hard. OUr friends who live in columbia did not really like the suburbs. I hope you figure out what is best for everyone:)

We moved when my youngest daughter started high school, girls are mean! We were prepared for that, she survived and is probably a better person for it. I think sometimes parents let children influence their decisions too much and then children don't learn that life changes and we have to 'go with the flow'. What if this move was 'forced' because of economoy/job loss/health issues? Would you have the same questions? I love your blog...seems you are a good Mom...have faith that if you are alright, your girls will be too.
